How You Can Help
You have a role to play in bringing hope and opportunity to Gardere through nutrition and education.

Finish the Canteen & Pantry
When a child is nourished, they can learn, laugh, and dream bigger. When a child is hungry, everything stops.
That’s why the vision for a school canteen was born. After listening to the village, it was clear: children needed reliable daily meals in school.
Today, a 1,200 sq. ft. canteen is rising from the ground. The foundation is dug. The pillars stand tall. Soon, walls and a strong floor will turn this structure into a lifeline — serving 150 children, every day.

Commit to Digging Wells
Water isn’t optional—it’s survival. Yet in Gardere, families risk dangerous journeys for something most of us take for granted: clean water.
The Artibonite River, the longest in Haiti, runs nearby, but it doesn’t run safe. Droughts steal cattle and crops. Illness steals time and life.
That’s why we’re committed to building wells. A reliable source of clean water isn’t just a convenience—it’s the first domino in a chain of change: from sickness to health, from scarcity to possibility.

Sponsor a Child
When you sign up to become a sponsor, your support will go to a child who has been identified as not having access to education, therefore giving them the awesome privilege and opportunity to have a more secure and healthy future.
Your sponsorship covers daily hot meals, clean water, and essential resources that allow a child to focus, learn, and dream.
You can change a child’s story — one meal, one lesson, one act of love at a time.

Our Origin Story
Since 2006, Yves Foster has carried Haiti in her heart. For years she joined mission teams, giving what she could. But in 2016, her path took her somewhere she had never gone before — to Gardere, a small village tucked deep into the mountains.
The journey there was grueling — winding roads, steep terrain, endless hours that felt more like crossing worlds than miles. But when Yves finally arrived, what she saw stopped her cold. Homes were crumbling. Children’s faces were marked not only by hunger but by dreams they were trying so hard to hold onto.
Yves couldn’t stop crying. Not just because of the conditions, but because of the children. Their eyes, their quiet resilience — she knew she would never forget them. In the midst of so much hardship, hope shimmered.
That day, something was planted in Yves’s heart. She returned home changed. She couldn’t shake the conviction that Gardere needed more than one-time relief. It needed a wellspring of ongoing love and support. Out of that conviction, Abundant Well Foundation (AWF) was born.
AWF exists because Yves believed that what she saw in Gardere — desperation wrapped in resilience — deserved more than pity.
It deserved partnership. It deserved possibility.
